About Rafee HEADING_TITLE

Since he was a little kid, Rafee had a fascination with cars, particularly classic American cars. One of his favorite TV shows was the Dukes of Hazard.

His dream back then was to own a couple of Chargers and restore them completely. Indeed, he later got to enjoy driving two of those fast machines. He always drove classic cars, starting at the age of fifteen. His first encounter with the Corvair, in the late 80's, was a 62 Coupe that was passed down to him. The car picked his curiosity. He went on to study as much as he could about the Corvair car and the Corvair engine.

He worked in two Corvair shops, but, in spite of his desire, was not allowed to learn to work on cars. His employers did not believe him to be good enough. That motivated Rafee even more, and he took every opportunity to observe and learn from others, including from their mistakes. He studied the original manuals. He worked on his own car, always trying to find a way to keep it running, and running better.

By that time, he had fallen in love with the Corvair Automobile and was no longer dreaming of Chargers! Years of hard work paid off, even the hard labor of chopping cars and putting parts away taught him a lot. To make it brief, one of the shops closed its doors, Rafee is alive and well, he sold his 62 but now has a personal collection of about 10 Corvairs, you can see some pictures on this site.

He has been in business for himself since 1999, reaching an ever increasing number of clients all over the United States, and some abroad. His goal is to keep the Corvair alive and thriving for many years to come, not only by maintaining it but also by improving it and adapting it to the times. His vast knowledge of Corvairs allows him to modify the Corvair in many different ways depending on what the client is looking for. When supplying parts, he can provide expert tips that only hands-on experience can teach.

For Rafee, working on Corvairs is such a JOY that he made it his life's work and treats it as an art form. What pride to drive a beautiful Corvair! As long as there is one Corvair on the road, Rafee Corvair Specialist will be here!!
